Terms and Conditions of Participation, Waiver and Release of Liability

Cycle Week 2026 – 28 May to 31 May 2026

1. Scope

These Terms and Conditions, the Waiver and Disclaimer apply to participation in Cycle Week 2026 (hereinafter the “Event”) and to all associated activities, in particular test rides on bicycles.

They apply to all natural and legal persons (hereinafter “Participants”) who take part in the Event or use test equipment.

The Event is organised by  BikeDays.ch GmbH (hereinafter “Organiser”).

2. Participation and Registration

Participation in Cycle Week and the testing of bicycles is free of charge.

Prior registration is a prerequisite for taking part in test rides. This can be done:

  • online in the run-up to the Event

  • on-site during the event via your own mobile device using the designated digital registration process (Digital Test Centre).

Registration can be completed at any exhibition stand providing test bikes.

By completing the registration, participants confirm that they have read and understood these terms and conditions and expressly accept them

Participation in test rides is only permitted once registration and consent have been completed.

To participate, a valid official ID must be presented, which

must be left with the issuing exhibitor during the respective test ride.

The organiser and the exhibitors reserve the right to exclude persons from participation or to refuse them access, in particular if they:

  • fail to follow the instructions of the staff

  • endanger other participants

  • are under the influence of alcohol or drugs

  • behave in an inappropriate or disruptive manner

3. Use of test equipment

By registering, participants agree to the test conditions.

The following provisions apply in particular:

  • Test drives are undertaken at the participant’s own risk

  • The duration and scope of the test drives are determined by the exhibitors

  • The test equipment must be handled with care

  • Participants are liable for damage to or loss of the test equipment, provided this was caused by improper use or gross negligence

  • Exhibitors may impose additional conditions

4. Conduct of the test drives

The test routes are not cordoned off and are not monitored. General road traffic regulations apply at all times. Participation is at your own risk. Driving must be adapted to your own abilities and the external conditions.

5. Instructions from staff

Instructions from the organiser, exhibitors and safety and supervisory staff must be followed at all times. Failure to comply may result in exclusion from the event.

6. Liability

Participation in the event and the use of the test equipment are at your own risk. The organiser, exhibitors, partners (including Digital Test Center), sponsors, authorities and volunteers accept no liability for:

  • Accidents

  • Personal injury or property damage

  • Theft or loss

  • Damage arising from the use or transport of the test equipment

This is subject to liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, insofar as such liability is mandatory under law.

7. Waiver and release of liability

By registering, participants expressly declare:

  • that they are aware of the risks associated with cycling (in particular mountain biking, e-biking and road cycling)

  • that they are physically and medically fit to ride a bicycle safely

  • that they use the test equipment at their own risk

Participants bear sole responsibility for:

  • their safety

  • their personal belongings

  • the test equipment provided to them

To the extent permitted by law, participants expressly waive all liability claims against:

  • the organiser

  • the exhibitors

  • partners (including the Digital Test Centre)

  • sponsors, authorities and helpers

This applies in particular to claims arising from:

  • injuries

  • property damage or financial loss

  • loss or theft

  • death

Participants also confirm that they have adequate liability and accident insurance.

8. Medical care

Participants agree to receive medical care in the event of an emergency. It is the responsibility of participants to ensure they have adequate accident and health insurance.

9. Changes or cancellation of the event

The organiser reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel the event at any time, in particular in the event of:

  • force majeure

  • official orders

  • security reasons

No claims may be made against the organiser on this basis.

10. Photo and video recordings

Participants agree that photos and videos taken during the event may be used free of charge for communication and marketing purposes.

11. Data protection and use of data

Personal data is collected during registration.

Participants agree that:

  • the email address provided during registration may be used by the respective exhibitor for queries and for marketing purposes relating to their products and services

  • the email address provided during registration may be used by the organiser for marketing purposes relating to Cycle Week

  • this data will not be passed on to unauthorised third parties for their own marketing purposes

This is subject to data processing by commissioned service providers (in particular for technical processing via the Digital Test Centre), insofar as this is necessary for the completion of registration and the test processes.

In all other respects, the Cycle Week privacy policy applies.

12. Final provisions

Should any individual provisions of these terms and conditions of participation be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected.

Swiss law applies exclusively.

The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zurich.
